Early life

Wright was born in New OrleansLouisiana. She is the second child of Anita Johnson-Andrews and Walter Andrews.[5] All together they have six children. Her mother was a drug addict so as a child, she was moved from relative to relative. This made her feel like she had no sense of belonging, until she met her childhood sweetheart Lil Wayne.[6]

Relationship and marriage with Lil Wayne

At age 12, Toya and rapper Lil Wayne met when she was at a corner store and Wayne was standing outside in New Orleans, Louisiana. She became pregnant with their daughter at the age of 15. Despite being divorced, the two have remained good friends and continue to raise their daughter together.[7]
