For those of you interested in the story behind the video, Goudeau and two of her friends were indicted on aggravated robbery charges in connection with a robbery at a Port Arthur hotel that left a man severely injured.
Keyron Elmore, 28, Jeremy Jomard Goudeau, 20 and Donna Renee Goudaeu, 25, were accused of forcing entry into a room at the Driftwood Inn in Port Arthur on July 20.
The three beat and stabbed the 73-year-old Kansas man who was staying in the room, stole numerous collectors’ coins from him and used his debit card to withdraw money from an ATM, according to court documents.
Police said at the time that the suspects knocked on the man’s door at about 7 a.m., barged in, and began beating and stabbing him. They also demanded money.
After stealing the man’s credit card, two of the suspects went to an ATM at a Texaco to try to get cash.
At least one suspect remained at the hotel with the victim and tortured him until he gave the robbers the correct PIN number.
Police arrested the three the same day. They still had the items belonging to the man, along with his truck, which they also stole court documents said.
All three suspects went to trial back in 2011 and according to this news article, they were all sentenced to long prison terms.
Keyron Elmore, 28, was sentenced to 60 years and Jeremy Goudeau, 20, was sentenced to 50 years in prison. They will be eligible for parole in 25 and 30 years respectively.
Donna Goudeau, 25, is set for trial in the Drug Impact Court on Dec. 5 for a pending motion to revoke probation charge.
A fourth person, Devin Hammon, 28, a Houston resident, is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and is not a suspect in the aggravated robbery.
Goudeau and Elmore made a plea agreement and were given the maximum sentence under the plea bargain, Jefferson County Assistant District Attorney Ashley Chase said.
The victim, Juan Sustiata, was staying at the Driftwood Inn on Memorial Boulevard while working in Port Arthur as a pipefitter on the Motiva expansion project.
Police believe the incident began when one of the suspects stole a Pontiac G6 from Houston and drove it to Port Arthur. The group then went to the motel and began knocking on doors. The suspects gained entry to the victim’s room when he answered the knock.
Once inside the room, the victim was beaten and stabbed and his 2004 Chevrolet extended cab truck was stolen. Police believe the group split off with some of the suspects staying inside the motel room with the victim while others tried to use the victims debit card to withdraw money.
Chase said Sustiata was struck with a tire tool and fire extinguisher and sprayed with the fire extinguisher during the robbery. The suspects also placed a pillowcase over the victim’s head while stabbing him repeatedly.
As a result of his injuries, Sustiata suffered severe physical injuries and is no longer able to work as a pipefitter.
According to Texas court records, Goudeau was sentenced to serve 18 years on July 20, 2011. She has about 15 years left to served and is still locked up in Gatesville, Texas. She’s also currently seeking penpals.
