Louisiana rapper, Kevin Gates stopped by Sway in the Morning to promote his new mixtape, By Any Means. The rapper discussed how and why he received his Master's in Psychology while incarcerated. He spoke about his mother feeling as though she failed as a parent and why he disagrees. Gates also spoke to some listeners on air about how they can turn their lives around. He went on to explain why he decided not to sign with Cash Money. He went on to explain why he remains faithful in relationships and how he does not feel the pressures of overt masculinity. Gates spoke about dealing with depression and releasing it through music.
